Again, meme-ing: will return to our regular programming tomorrow.
Do you snack while watching TV?
Sometimes – usually at night, & can be savoury or sweet.
What is your favourite TV show?
Don’t have a fav as such at the moment, it comes and goes. There is no TV show I love so much that I would knock down people in haste to sit in front of a TV.
What TV show makes you run to change channels?
Sport – tennis, soccer, olympics (except gymnastics)
How do you view your TV guide: online, on-screen, newspaper, magazine, other?
No real pre-planning, I use the online guide at the time of watching to assess what’s available.
Have you ever been surveyed for your TV-viewing habits or do you know anyone who has been?
Do you watch TV news and/or current affairs regularly?
No it is scary how uninformed I am. I figure I get enough from reading MX on the train home.Do you watch any TV “soaps”? (Truth please, even if it is embarrassing.)
Yep some stuff – Neighbours would be the most likely, but that’s still random – fortnightly appears to be enough to stay in touch. Though was totally sucked in by Bridget’s story & her death!
What other series shows do you try not to miss?
Spicks and specks, Glee, SATC re-runs
Any previous series or shows you really liked?
So many – SATC as previously mentioned, Vicar of Dibley, Friends, early House, Roseanne, Young ones, early West Wing etc etc – mostly comedies.
Do you have pay TV or are the digital channels enough?
Yep we have Foxtel IQ x2 – but it is dominated by MotH and the kids.
Do you only watch certain TV shows online?
I don’t watch anything online. Sit in front of a monitor too much anyway.
Do you regularly use services like ABC catch-up or other online replays?
No – no replays
Do you ever pay any attention to the adverts?
Do you multi-task while watching TV & if so what else are you doing?
Always – folding clothes, crocheting or knitting, reading. The TV has a role as background noise.
Is there a TV show that makes you laugh out loud?
Spicks and specks
Have you ever said no to a social invitation to stay at home and watch TV? (Truth again please.) Mind telling us what the show was?
Never. TV is not that important – though my family may argue that.
Do you record TV shows & if so why and how (VCR, DVD recorder, TIVO, laptop, etc.)?
Family uses the record feature with Foxtel a lot. MotH for footy, kids for whatever. I record the odd movie.
Least favourite TV personality/actor/character?
I agree with @Bonitoclub on Sam Newman, and would add Eddie McGuire. Generally any game show hosts, sports commentators and cheesy current affair show hosts.
Most popular TV personalities/actors/character?
?? Dunno. I love a pretty distraction – Big from SATC, Mark Harmon (NCIS) etc
Have you ever seen anything really memorable on TV (not news/events – made for TV drama, etc.)?
I love a good soapy death – and will tune into a soapy just for the dying part, i.e. Bridget in Neighbours, Molly on a Country Practice, what’s-her-face on Grey’s Anatomy. News/events though I do remember – the first cross-overs to US on the impacts of 9/11 which were shown during West Wing, the wedding of Charles and Diana….
Do you prefer TV series or stand-alone shows?
Series, but not ones where you have to be dedicated to the show to understand what’s going on. So series with stand-alone episodes.
Is there a specific show you find yourself recommending over and over?
Not really – perhaps Spicks and Specks? But most people I know would already watch it.
